Leaf Contours – a silver ring with delicate golden and silver contours.
This piece is part of my Lines and Traces series. Drawing on the traces left behind by ancient civilisations, this collection interprets my discoveries from books and museums, through abstract designs composed of lines, gentle curves and minute golden dots. Whilst they are abstract, I imagine them infused with the stories preserved in cuneiform tablets, pieces of ancient jewellery or in the wondrous granulation of Etruscan goldsmiths.
The ring is made from a D-shaped shank, which is textured and flat on the outside and shiny and curved on the inside, making for a very comfortable fit. The top of the ring is concave, textured and with arching lines in silver and gold.

Wearing It
The ring makes a beautiful statement with its gently curving lines and shapes atop the concave part.
The half-round shank is very comfortable to wear, whilst the textured outside and gold leaf shape gives it extra interest.

All of my pieces are designed in collections and are made in small editions, sometimes as completely unique pieces. Even with repeated pieces, there are always slight pattern variations, which are part of the making process, making each piece completely unique.
