The striking front of the heavily textured, black and slightly wavy ring is composed of two broken halves that have fused together. Each bears the remains of a pattern once whole. The re-joined halves are held together with patches at the reverse of the piece. The two halves do not quite fit correctly, not quite in the right places but reveal, nevertheless, a new beautiful whole with echoes from a different past.
Colour / Finish: partially blackened (oxidised), satin finsh
Material: recycled Sterling silver, recycled 24ct gold foil (Keum-Boo)

Techniques: Keum-Boo technique to attach 24ct gold foil to silver.
Carefully designed and handmade in my Hertfordshire (UK) studio, using traditional methods and eco-friendly processes and materials.

Wearing It
Like the other two pieces in this series, this ring may not be for everyone. It is a statement. It has a moving story to tell but it is not about hopelessness.
Women endure pain and suffering; they survive and live. Their lives shatter, some wounds heal, other only heal partially, imperfectly, with scars, which bear witness to the trauma endured. The memories remain. This ring is about surviving and living on. About accepting the memories and the scars and learning to see them as part of a new, different, beautiful whole.
Wear this ring with pride and dignity – as a statement, perhaps at a special event, a certain occasion, or make it a special gift to someone who may identify with its story.
