Hana – is an elegant, yet bold, necklace with a reversible pendant, showing off delicate flower patterns in silver and gold.

This piece is part of my Cherry Blossom Collection. Having always been drawn to Japanese aesthetics, traditions, and craft practices, the idea for this collection emerged whilst listening to a novel set in Japan. Reflecting on the minimal beauty of Japanese cherry blossom prints by Hokusai and Hiroshige, this collection seeks to capture the fleeting, fragile grace of cherry blossoms drifting on a spring breeze.

Combining the rich yellow of 22ct gold (or the slightly paler hue of 18ct gold) with the satin-finished, textured whiteness of silver creates a striking contrast, while the softly sparkling yellows of the citrines and golden rutile quartz further enhance the pieces’ delicate elegance.

The necklace is made with three stainless steel neck wires and a pendant which can be worn in two ways: at the front it presents a delicate flower design in gold and silver, whilst the reverse is made from a silver lattice pattern of flowers and petals.

The secondary pendant at the lower edge reveals an ethically sourced trillion-cut rutile quartz with golden inclusions. This pendant can swivel, so it can be worn with either side of the main pendant.
